Hello, and welcome to Isla James! 

 

My name is Nikki and I am the author behind this blog. 

 

I am a wife to my best friend and soul mate Brendon & mama to Landon (2 years old) who constantly keeps us on our toes, and Miss Isla James (2 months) who has recently become the HBIC in our house.

 

Why did I start this blog?

 

I have always wanted to create my own blog, and even started one over a year ago. However, I quickly realized that I had no idea who I was as a writer and what the purpose of the blog was. 

 

It wasn’t until I got pregnant with my second baby that I realized I wanted to write posts that were authentic to my life. I wanted to write about the things I said to myself in the 2 minutes of peace I find in the bathroom before the little fingers start poking in from underneath the door, the things I say to myself as I sweat my way through the grocery store while a terrible two tantrum is happening, and the things I say to myself on the days I feel like I'm killing it in the mom department. 

 

My hope for this blog is that my readers will read my posts and find comfort in knowing they are not the only ones who get the eye roll from the bitchy lady in the Target checkout.
